ScottishPower Generation: Cockenzie CCGT and gas pipeline – Grant led the multi-disciplinary consultancy teams which secured consents for a 1,000MW CCGT power station and 16km gas pipeline in East Lothian. The S36 consent for the CCGT was the first for a major new power station in Scotland in over 25 years.
Mainstream Renewable Power: Neart na Gaoithe – Having originally undertaken a secondment role, Grant has for a number of years advised Mainstream in respect of onshore infrastructure associated with its major offshore wind farm. YPEC retains an ongoing role with Mainstream advising on a variety of planning policy and development management fronts..
SP Energy Networks: Dewar Place substation – For a number of years Grant advised SPEN on the redevelopment of its major central Edinburgh substation, including the securing of planning permission, listed building consent and a series of amendments and secondary consents.
HBOS/KPMG: Asset Management – Following the late-00s financial crisis, Grant was part of a multi-disciplinary team that advised on the development potential and planning prospects of a variety of residential and commercial sites part of a variety of landowners’ portfolios, ensuring best value for shareholders and tax payers.
ASDA – Grant assisted ASDA in securing a variety of consents in relation to new and existing sites in Scotland and the north of England.
Dobbies Garden Centres – A key member of the team that delivered planning permissions for major new garden centre developments at Southport, Carlisle, East Kilbride, Aberdeen and Dunfermline, plus a major extension of Dobbies’ Dalkeith HQ
